The T rack is a lightweight (500 grams), minimalist bag support rack rated for 30lbs of weight on top of the platform that offers the ability to mount extra water bottles or dry bags by using the built in triple bottle cage mounts on the side of each rack leg. The racks are made of Chromoly steel, designed to work equally well on the front or rear of most bikes and are offered in two leg lengths to accommodate bikes with standard upper and lower rack mounts. Riders of taller frames may want the larger T Rack to get the platform high enough for their saddle or handlebar bags. These racks have a 120mm wide upper platform and offer clearance for tires at least 4.75” wide. Spacing between the mounting points on the lower rack legs of the T Rack is 155mm. The racks come with 2 sets of upper mounting struts, 100mm and 300mm long to fit on the front or rear of your bike. There are 3 light mounts on the rack to accommodate a variety of lighting options.
The T rack is a specialty ultralight bag support rack, rated for 30lbs of weight (and ISO tested at 200,000 cycles for much more) over the top of the rack platform. If your load is hanging cantilevered off the end of the platform then it will put diagonal loads on the rack legs and could cause them to bend, especially on rough trails, which isn’t covered under warranty. Most people should consider Tumbleweed’s Mini Pannier rack, which has a higher load rating and a second set of vertical legs to support more awkward sized loads and allow use of small pannier bags.
Q : What size rack should I order?
A : Measure from your lower rack mount straight up to the top of your tire. You want 1-2″ of clearance above your tire.
Q : Can I run panniers on the T Rack?
A : Certain lightweight panniers can work, we’ve used the Porcelain Rocket/Rockgeist panniers on the T rack and they work since the panniers strap on to the rack and have a rigid back panel.
Q : Can I mount the T rack on the front or back of my bike?
A : The T rack was designed for front or rear mounting as long as you have a pair of upper and lower threaded bosses and your frame/fork was designed to accept a standard rack.
Q : I only have one hole in the center of my fork crown, how can I mount a T rack on my fork?
A : If you have lower threaded eyelets but only a center fork hole at the crown, ask your local bike shop to see if they have appropriate rack hardware for center mounting, or check out this adaptor.
Q : Can I put this on my fat bike?
A : The T Rack is compatitibe with fatbike forks but is not compatible with the rear mounts, due to the width of lower rack mounts.
